Friends like mine

Hiking up mountains and getting scars Late night drives in our parents cars Playing poker while nobody's home That's stuff you can't do alone It seems I just lost track of the time Its easy to do with friends like mine Pretty girls and hot campfires Football fields and flippin' tires I can't explain how much they meant Even when we just needed to vent In those days everything was fine Especially if you've got friends like mine Waking up late and cream cheese bagels Dogs eating our crumbs under the tables Sanctuaries like "WTP" Wouldn't be the same if it were just me Backyard woods full of pine Were so much more with friends like mine Hot summer days down at the pool Moonlight skinny-dipping, boy, were we cool I'd never forget those sodas we share Axe spray and lighters burning our hair We could do anything even some crime You just can't catch friends like mine Crayfish, minnows, bug we couldn't tell We only got them down if we ignored the smell Cherry coke and vanilla cigars Sitting on the street with some guitars Together we'd always wait in line Its just an amusement park without friends like mine No place to go, nowhere to be Waiting for the bell to set us free Never thought I'd miss this place Just don't grow and forget my face There was always enough time For real cool friends like mine Bargain Mart before Track Asking the coach to cut us slack Always finding pretty girls to mack What I'd do to get that back You just can't find Friends like mine These years I've had were some of the best And I can't believe this is all we have left It breaks my heart to watch you go You've all been with me, High and low I hope some day, dinner we'll dine Its hard to let go, of friends like mine. Dedicated to all the friends that got me through high school.
