Friendship

A frienship is a flower

that sprouts and blooms with hues.

No matter where it's planted

it thrives despite the blues.

It could be many souls

or perhaps just simply two,

not just about the quantity,

but quality that proves true.

It's a whisper across the heart

that is stored through endless time,

a cherished smile that lasts

between your heart and mine.

It's not always a 'yes,'

'no' is important, too,

chosen with firm wisdom

only because 'I love you.'

A deep determination

to show uncondititonal  love,

an image through the mirror

reflecting from Above.

A quiet shoulder to lean on

when all the world seems gray.

A tear to mix with yours

to show more than words can say.

Selfless, simple actions

to turn words into what you see.

It's caring more for you

while caring less about me.

It's a hand gently offered,

when you need something to hold.

Love is always freely given

but never ever sold.

It's forgiveness dressed in mercy,

kindness with self-control;

all the Fruits of the Spirit

displayed as one whole.

A walk between the raindrops,

a dance within the sunbeam,

a stroll amongst the lazy stars,

although it's dark, there's still a gleam.

It speaks many languages;

word, touch, tear and smile.

A constant pursuant of

how to make it worth your while

Staying the same -cor ad cor-

despite the distance that may lie.

True friendship and true love

never truly die!
