Frivolous

1 Corinthians 14:26 New English Translation (NET Bible)

26 What should you do then, brothers and sisters? When you come together,

each one has a song, has a lesson, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation.

Let all these things be done for the strengthening of the church.

Frivolous

Many songs we sing seem to have lost their meaning

We get carried away by beauty the melody provides

The words somewhere receive vagueness in our longing

To be at peace in surety in the midst of the night

Maybe the words don’t count in the dimension we hunger for

Maybe it is just a noise we want to leave behind

Only to express our doubts … or thoughts we had before

That in some mysterious choice we consider a rare find

“Frivolous pursuits”, called life to the fullest

Blinded by our wants we speed towards our goals

“Not knowing our own good”, will drag us like a pulley

As a debutante … into the misery of the whole
