Frost bitten nerves

Frost bitten nerves

Dormant and still, ready to attack at any moment
Active lies beyond the curtain
Passive lies behind it
And I lie behind it

Nerves bitten by the frost of a soon approaching moment

The waves and echoes of exchanged conversation

An imperfect host living on the stage of a perfect scenario

Thus lies the guilty on the stage of entertainment and thus lies the innocent in the audience abroad

And limbo I remain, straddling the world of two
Frost bitten nerves warmed by the lights of who? Me, I  lie there in the middle of this acting opportunity

Switch on
Switch off

I feel perfect, I feel dauntlesss, and the character of a prefect I presume

A character of unimaginable odds
An oxymoron my character takes on
a chief officer, magistrate, or regional governor in certain countries.

This character finds me out for the person I lie hidden
Beneath this curtain of unreality
A reality my fiction becomes
Searching me on stage for the fraud I am
