Frozen

Like Ice atop a lake.
At the very brink of spring...
Fragile; Waiting.

The suspense...
Could drive a person mad.
Still—somehow frozen...
And unable to move.

But deep within,
You know you're melting.
You know soon,
There will be nothing left of you,
But an over-sized puddle...
Lost in the enormity,
Of an even larger one.

But your fragility-
It's not visible,
And you await the day…
Some poor fool comes along…
And treads upon you

And you Crack.

You Snap and you pull them down with you
Only to destroy yourself soon after.
