Frozen Still

Standing in a moment of time

Such as the icicles hitting in a consistent chime

Ice filling the cracks of bark on the tree's girth

Leaves were frozen as hidden blankets against the earth

The sky is as grey as the fur of a wolf, or the skin of a seal

Like a great stone softened under the snipping current of the sky set to reveal

The unnaturally quiet dawn, morning, the air I observed

As only the brush of the branches against the snow could be heard

Not even the dove or the rooster's crow was reliant

Through the morning silence

Shadows of grew and colors of black were the only differentiation

Against the great vastness of the white snow and grey sky affixation,

Of color from above and below

Enable Ginger

Reset against the whiteness of the snow.
