Frozen in Time

The paint spiraled around the canvas,

A breathtaking scene brought to life.

Where the dark waves of the ocean shattered,

And white sand glowed against the sun.

Vibrant color filled the blank space,

The artist became an author of color.

She sat hunched over the stool,

Her attention fixed wholly on the masterpiece,

While serpents of many shades whispered.

The snakes crowning her head carried brushes,

Paint dripped onto their scales creating a colorful scene.

They offered up ideas,

Repeating them as a crowd,

Until she listened and added their input.

Medusas art became world renowned,

As recognizable as her large wings and serpent hair,

Both of which were almost always speckled in paint.

She traveled the world to show off her work.

Any travelers lucky enough to see it found themselves frozen,

Staring at the magnificent illustrations.

Looking at each sweep of color made movement foreign,

All that mattered was the exquisite art,

As if a piece of the world had fallen into the canvas.

Medusa became famous to the world,

People whispered of her in cities,

The girl who could make you frozen in time.
