Fuerza-Perseverancia

From the earliest memories of you sending me off into the unknown

Reminders to be strong, to perservere, and never fear

Kept close to my heart from the language of the only mother known.

Despite distance, dirt, and diplomats keeping us apart I will remember,

Time and time again how you pushed me to be Me

To be Smart,

To be a Wisecrack,

Be Proud to be a Woman,

most of all to Persevere when all odds are against Us.

Though times are tough I know that your teachings will pull Us through.

"Blood, Sweat, and Tears" They say,

Instead I hear it the way You the Strongest Woman taught me:

          1. Blood is a normal occurrence in Women, not a thing a hide but to be celebrated.

          2. Sweat is natural for girls too, don't fret and play strong like a Woman.

          3. Tears never solve problems, ponte las pilas.

My mentor, My Mother though I state all these strong words of you

I have seen you breaking down in tears

when things have been tough,

I have seen you smile and laugh

until your cheeks hurt,

But most of all I remember

The strength, perserverance, and no nonsense bestowed upon me.

The many years I have known you, and for those to come when we meet again

I love you Mommy,

With my whole being I am grateful to You,

To all You have taught,

Your Sacrifices.

Good Night Mom and Thank You,

Our time will be soon.
