Full
My that place was full
(already when I existed there) and -
I remember when I first decided
never to (not) stay.
and I was smiling.
and I was screaming.
and I was alone.
And the faculties exerted
were only ever focused -
fo – cused
on analyzing the aloneness
which perpetuated the
pertinent and precise
and pointed.
Sullenness.
Sadness.
(still-not-with-anybody-else-ness)
and they all look at me
“My, how pleasing -
aesthetically pleasing -
(truly)
your smile is, (my friend) !”
They’re quite glad to know me, I believe
and I them -
these friends.
In fact, they’re my most favorite people to be alone with.
(I mean, certainly I’ve been quite alone for quite a long time, and of all the people accompanying me in the longness of my aloneness, these are certainly my favorite.)
(my friends.)
And I do declare it is because
- my favorite because -
those pleasing smiles.
“My, Mrs. such-and-such
she looks just lovely -
just pleasing, today!”
Oh, and I was smiling.
I always smile when I’m alone.
I always smile.
To swim away (in my head) from here
- to solitude -
would be very much the same as being here -
with these friends.
