Fury

There is so much in my head

Swirling in a vast black hole

I want to write it all

But I can’t get close enough

It is the moon

And I am the sun

Burning with fury

A universe away

Thoughts come and go

Like water through my hands

But my brain doesn’t want to admit

Its liquid

Spilling away

Leaving me grasping for something

I cannot hold

I don’t remember

What I thought about minutes ago

Gone like someone stole it from me

When I wasn’t looking

Yet memories from decades ago

Still fresh and persistent

Ripping through my dreams

Nagging at my days

Reminding me that

The pain is still there

As if I’d forgotten

Will I ever get all of this out of me?

And where will it go if I do?

I am worried that the universe

Cannot hold all of my pain

I’m afraid of my own fury

Maybe its afraid of me too
