The future

My father had once told me
you'll never know just what you'll be
even with the end in sight
just before the end of night
dont jump too soon, because you'll fall
just hang on tight, fight through it all

If we leave our souls to waste
we become part of the rat race
so hold your head high, he said
you don't know where you'll be
when you'll drop dead
so stand tall and don't cry
because by then it's all over
so reach for the skies
