The Future

Being fed, being cared for

Normal childhood things

Talking to friends

Going to school

Occasional depression ,the usual,

Older brother loved

I’m just there

Brothers names

Terribly nice

My names

Pretty ugly

Wait…

What happened to normal childhood things….

Who knows

Years have gone by, I've always been ready

Ready to leave

Till one day, we talked

We actually talked

We spoke

We cried

The clueless parents listened

Listened to me

We spoke about the future

The near future

They told me

I may not be ready for the cruel world,

that I wanted to explore

But now….

I’m clueless

Not sure what to do

Not sure where to go

What if they’re right…

But all I know is I’ll be strong

Strong like that child I once was

The future, the future

I’ll be waiting

Waiting until the day we meet

Hoping you’ll be nice and welcome me with open arms
