Future

I fear for the future
Not because the earth is dying
But because I have to be there for it
I fear for the future
Not because people are starving
But because I have to deal with it
I fear for the future
Not because I think it’ll be shit
But because I know it’ll be shit
I know it’s unlikely to get better
I know that fucking nazis
Actual, legit, nazis
Have suddenly decided to appear
To pop up at protests
And I fear for the future
Because I’m there for it
Because I don’t know what’s happening next
Because I don’t know how I’ll help
I fear for the future
Because my mental state
Right now
Is the worst it’s been in my life
So I can’t imagine what it’ll be like
In the future
Every year gets worse
Than the last
And I know I shouldn’t
Look at the past
But it’s getting worse
Everything’s getting worse

So what’s the point anymore
