Future

How does one find the light, the strength to fight for what is right? Where does one gather hope? When she is at the end of her rope? ‘Tis the future is what I reply, though it prompts many to wonder why. What used to fill me with fear and dread, is now the reason I get out of bed. The idea of building a better tomorrow that is big and bright and will drown out the sorrow. Not just for me but for others I must keep working and fighting for what is just. Through papers and projects and endless teasin’ For the future I fight through every season. A cleaner earth, better health, and better life, are all both goals and struggles we strife. I plan to get there, one by one. And I'll never stop fighting, ‘till the battles are won. Though today I can step out and enjoy the moment, It is to the future I look to find wonder- and enjoyment.
