Future
the air, the sound, the breeze, the smell
for years it’s the same as far as I could tell
the people, the stores, the music, the city
leaving these things behind is truly a pity
but change is inevitable and the future is near
I must take a couple more steps forward without any fear
the air, the sound, the breeze, the smell
this new place gives so many opportunities, there’s no time to dwell
the people, the stores, the music, the city
a sense of what’s new to me is surprisingly pretty
the new is exciting, but the old will be missed
never forgotten but new opportunities I will persist
