For as long as I was old enough to remember

I always had his voice and his words

But never a face

Because he and I always kept in touch through our mobile devices

or by email

He would send me notes to help with my homework

or inspirational articles about modern day black engineers

I will always remember how passionate and supportive he was about my work

Making sure my grades were decent, and that I was getting enough out of my education

He was helpful and generous and kind and wise

And for someone who I have never seen in person

He sure as ever never let that stop him from allowing us to grow a

relationship.
