The Game of Life

if life is just a game,

does anything really matter?

because it matters to me

so I get stuck in these patterns

of caring too much

and being too stressed out

of not taking chances

and having too much doubt

but if you really think about it

we’re all going to die

so how can I worry about myself

or the legacy I leave behind

when it will only be kept alive in the distorted perspectives of made up minds

but even that’s going to fade

as time passes by

and you can’t play the perfect game

but you still have to try

because if you look up at the clock

We’re all running out of time

so it’s constant reminders to take it day by day

constant reminders to say the things I want to say

to steal some moments where I played the way I want to play

because at the end of it all

life is just a game
