Games of Love

The board grew larger because you were so far gone.

I was the pawn.

Being played until I couldn't go on.

But I was stronger than the others.

Survived the battles and your games,

but when my ranks began to grow, nothing was the same.

The game changed; went from a pawn to a King.

Owning everything I imagined, yet still feel empty.

Materialistic things, using them to fill my empty void.

Morphed to a pawn once again to be used as a decoy.

Thinking why do I have to be such a damn romantic.

Feeling the loving vibes against people I play cards with.

54 cards in one Kingdom.

The Kings have their Queens.

As both the lovers look below at the Kingdom which they reign.

But the Jokers are the odd balls that changed up the game.

Think of romance in a game of Spades.

Where the kings are now peasants and the Jokers now reign.

No rules or civic duties, just freedom with pain.

Reminding me how our romance began.

When you were my Queen and I was your King.

But we can't place order on what hasn't yet be seen.

Out of the 54 cards, we are the Jokers in the light.

Free and willing in sight.

For what we live and we love because us together, it is right.

Like the moon chasing the sun; never giving up its fight.

Like lifting Thor's hammer to show you my might.

You were never my darkness when all you brought to me was light.
