THE GANDHI IN WE

THE GANDHI IN WE As long as we are winning It's all about victory All we see are not people But numbers of adversaries That drop and die ..before our eyes No sympathies within ..even of a little kind When we have run out of fire And we have our backs against the wall Left to wage the fight alone Outnumbered with uneven odds All of a sudden we think of home Oh, I am somebody's husband Oh, I am somebody's father Oh, I am somebody's son Have mercy on my mother As the Sharp stake wedges deep Trying to puncture the heart within It is no longer about us It is no longer about politics It is no longer about beliefs It is now about 'me' It is about the life flashing before 'my eyes' It is when I realize This is it I am about to exit The fear, shock and unbelief ..is paralyzing indeed ..as it chokes your throat within As the adversary draws near All of a sudden you realize He is a human you can beg But not so when before you ..his son knelt and begged Without care you snuffed out . the life in him with a clout Wake up I say ..and wake up I did today My face glistening with sweat I did not understand ..how and why I was still alive What I remember is ..the Father coming to me With anger in his eyes blazing The feeling of the stake piercing ..my heart so painful and scary The taste of my blood choking My helplessness overwhelming ..as adversaries surround me Only me.. Everyone else in my team ..mowed to the ground I was certain it was my time to go My friend, believe when I say That is a feeling you don't want to know How it is that I woke I do not know What I know ..is that ..war I do not want ..anymore I will never be a fighter again For now I see A father like me ..on the other end A brother like me ..with parents so great A husband like me ..whose wife is waiting for bread Now I understand ..what Christ felt on the cross Now I understand ..what warriors felt in the battle Now I understand ..what my adversaries feel Now I am no longer advocating for war I am no longer involved I am not even anti war I am pro Peace Let us all amicably exist There is no difference ..between you and me And there is no difference too big ..worth the loss of another soul To live or not Is God's mandate alone Let us all learn to love & live In peace Let us all reach within For the Gandhi in we For us to write ..a better history === ORIGINAL.
