Gap

We no longer wade through murky holes

We no longer live in fear of weather

Of succumbing to the elements we do not question.

Why, then, do we still kill out of love: unchecked desire for a mate.

Why, then, do we still fear the unknown: the desire to hate.

Why, then, do we still have the desire to lock ourselves in our closets

Feast upon the bread taken from across continents

And blame them?

It who demands Women to be mothers

And Men to slowly die from fighting others

Unconditionally

Instead of bettering.

Now unpurposed in our flood of saturated

People

Millions of years have created these roles.

Millions numbed by labor

Millions snuffed by the lack.

Biology has failed us:

Self-Preservation has failed us:

Greed has failed us.

The world cannot solely live by seizure

Lives within our own crosshairs.

Overcoming our past generations

Overcoming our millennia of selves

May just free the dirt from our backs

So we can stand up

And bury the Gap.
