Garden
My hope is crushed, my passion faded,
I look over my once glorious garden.
The shimmers gone, the contents broken.
All around me blackened roots,
Beauty covered in grimy soot.
I lay in the wreckage, stupefied.
Never once guessing,
I invited in this despicable demise.
