Garden Dreams

Alleyway gardens where nectar is produced Next to garbage bags, car parts, and latex condoms I dream of dandelions, tulips, and water lilies Instead I got cocaine, heroin, and weed Now imagine that in your garden Next to lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers Sounds familiar? Look into my backyard Oops, I don’t have one I must be mistaken my alleyway for some type of plantation field I see flowers but that’s only because of the weed smoke But imagine me planting a garden Planting seeds, so I can nurture them and watch them grow Then see them get torn down By the government’s plan to build a new stadium or court house I dream of clear skies, bright eyes, and Heaven Hoping for an end to Global Warming Turn back the clock and erase all of Earth’s catastrophes Imagine Earth as one big garden for everyone to feast off Now look out your window and see the destruction You’ll see it’s only a Garden Dream
