A Garden's Heart

Location

I can smile and look at everythingTwisting a strand of hair with my finger,A childish expression i wear to pass the time. Until then I am wasting my time skipping and stepping on broken leaves,My toes growing numb from the water soaking into my shoes.I balance myself as I walk closer to this violenceThat blooms and sweeps over my garden,Devastating the other beauties that have grown all year
While the season of love hasn't ended. My arms were once spread out, Waiting for your nourishment, but are now wilting like dead petals The remaining sunshine fading off the mountains. I shrink back into my form of darkness, a message left unread because you were too late to ask me. Another year you must wait until I awake from this absense of light. Have I ever changed your perspective, like the others that watched me grow? Have I ever pained you to see my anchor Plummet through dirtSinking into place when my feet no longer swayedCasting this smile out of the darkness,I wake myself upMy face coruscating under a fallacious light,Deceiving you to trust my lie.
