Gasping for Air

All alone in a crowd

Shut inside your bedroom door

Trying to breathe

Lying on the bathroom floor

They say you're crazy

You start to believe it

You're falling apart piece by piece

And bit by bit

No one else understands what it means

To die when you're still alive

You can't even explain it

But damn have you tried

No one wants to hear about your problems

But they don't know how you feel

You can't explain it to them

But it's no doubt that this is real

You think there is no end

When you're drowning in your tears

You've been begging for the light

For far too many years.

They all think you want attention

So they just stop and stare

But your focus is not on them

When all you're doing is gasping for air
