Gathering Water

My sorrow is that of a pool.

It gathers into a puddle, gradually forming a large mass.

Every drop of drama, adding to the slow-forming sea.

Finally, it starts to overflow, heaving over every side.

Sometimes in the form of a hurricane.

A tidal wave.

A flash flood.

A tsunami.

But every time, I am forced to make the decision...

                    Should I try to swim,

                    Or just let myself drown?
