Gazing at the Night Sky

your mind is numb.

there is a pressure building in your mind

Your thoughts trying to break free.

to be told to the world; but

your voice cant seem to work.

it clogs up like a sink filled with unwanted garbage-

Wanting to escape yet becomes unable to.

They ask

tell you to talk

that talking helps

eases the mind

but they don't know that my thoughts crave to escape.

To become a soft sound that speaks loud volumes

to witness the crisp air, and echo throughout space

they don't know I’ve tried

but each time I do

my voice seems to hide

and my thoughts scream at me

tell me to speak- Speak!

but I cant

No- I wont

because not speaking is better than

enduring the scrutiny.

they plead

to have a penny for your thoughts

and when you take the deep breath

to release the darkness that seeps in your mind…

you realize you can never get it out.
