The Gem In My Life

When the sun shine and the moonlight may kiss at the peak of dawn

As the waves crash and synchronize to form a song

To feel the roughness of the sand in the palm of my hand

And where my best friend may reside next to where I stand

To venture and be enticed by the flora and fauna

And share laughter and moments to build our bond stronger

A world without her would be lackluster

God knew what He needed to send

So He chose her as my best friend

To live without her is like living in a world without air

Different yet similar, like an apple and a pear

There is no one else that can comprehend

Our remarkable ten year trend

To find comfort in a face that I’ve always seen

But like a breath of fresh air every time we meet

The person who feels like home

She can never make me feel alone

A friendship built on a foundation of happiness and love

There is no one else in the world I love enough

To share my life and talk about

All the reasons why my best friend is someone I can’t live without
