Understanding teen girls and their struggles…through poetry ~

          Their feeling of unworthiness,

          Their desire to be "loved", if only on the outside,

          Their need to fit in and be accepted,

Understanding their needs, wants, desires…..through poetry.

Creating a plan to help these teen girls become empowered….through poetry ~

          Helping them to value themselves,

          To honor and respect themselves,

          To make choices that lead to happiness, not pain,

Creating a support group for these girls to share, learn and grow…through poetry.

Leading my group called GEMS (Girls Empowered & Motivated for Success) through poetry ~

          Girls who are now brave and confident,

          Girls who have goals for themselves,

          Girls who see their value and want to empower others,

Leading my group as an Empowered Woman to help empower other women….through poetry.

          Poetry has bonded us together,

                    Poetry has strengthened our resolve,

                             Poetry has taught us respect,

                                       Poetry has lead us toward strength,

                                                 Poetry has empowered us…

                                         Through Poetry we are strong,

                                        Through Poetry we will triumph.
