How do you put in words

the feeling of feeling

in-between?

How do you explain to your father

that you stood up for your brother

who he insists on calling Katie

because you get how he feels?

What do you say when you are given the question

"Are you a boy or a girl?",

And you aren't sure why, but you want just to say "yes"?

But it gets worse.

How do you explain to your crush that you are about 60% girl,

40% boy, and 100% unsure what to do about it?

Even the ftms and the mtfs can't fully relate.

because they feel like they're in the wrong body

but I feel like there is no right one for me.

What do you say to your mother,

who keeps telling you to grow your hair out,

and who doesn't get why you wear a tie with your dress

and a pair of flats with your suit?

How do you put in words

the feeling of feeling

in-between
