GENEALOGY

Genealogy from the Greek;

To mean generation,

And knowledge,

And known as history of one’s family,

And the tracing of lineages and antiquity.

And for this a genealogist will use,

Oral interviews,

Historical records,

Genetic analysis,

And other records to obtain,

Information about a family

In order to demonstrate kinship,

And a pedigree of a family members,

Resulting in displays of charts,

Or written in as narratives,

And in this pursuit

Of a family’s history and origins,

There tends to be several motivations,

Including the desire

For one to carve out a place,

Of one’s family

In a larger historical picture,

And to own a responsibility,

To preserve the past

For future generations to come,

And most of all;

A great sense of self-satisfaction,

In accurate storytelling…….
