This generation
Why are good habits so hard to keep,
but bad habits are so hard to break?
Why is it that compliments, we just brush off,
but insults keep us lying awake?
Why do we constantly try to fit in,
when we were each made unique?
Why do we look the other way,
when we see something that should make us speak?
Why do we say one thing,
and then do another?
Why do we judge,
without getting to know each other?
Why is lying so tempting,
but the truth so hard to get out?
Why do we do things,
that don't make our parents proud?
Why is it so hard to love,
but so easy to hate?
Why do we do stupid things,
just because 'our friends say'?
Why do we just sit here,
and not fight for what we believe?
Why is it so hard to give,
but so easy to receive?
Why are we so obsessed
with things that don't really matter?
Why do we let ourselves
fall into unproductive patterns?
Why is our generation
so content with just sitting around?
Why aren't we doing things
worth talking about?
Why do teenagers
have such a sense of entitlement?
When if you really want something,
you have to go fight for it.
Because of our generation's
lack of responsibility,
The bar has been lowered
for what we consider our abilities.
But, just because we're young,
doesn't mean we can't make a difference.
It's time to rebel
against these low expectations.
