"This Generation"

Location

They call us lazy.

They call us tech-savvy.

They say we aren't like our mommies or daddies.

They look at us funny.

They think we're going nowhere.

They spend so much time thinking about us, analyzing us,

But do they really care?

All they see is the mistakes, problems poor choices.

Didn't they ever want to use their voices?

Like the generations before us we are still fighting.

Fighting for our rights.

Fighting for equality.

Fighting against the pressures of our society.

They say "This Generation" will fall short, disappoint, and cause nations to worry.

They don't look for the few of us who choose to say "No.

This will NOT be the end of our story".

As past generations continue to look down on us,

Blame us,

Point at us with accusing fingers,

We wonder if they will ever stop to have faith that hope could still linger?

Because as long as they keep questioning if we can fit the bill,

We'll keep asking ourselves if we ever will.
