"Generations"

These generations, so lost in thought.

They go about avoiding life's obligations,

desperately trying to remain uncaught.

They know not what they seek, nor would they strive if they knew.

They claim it's individualism,

yet when their names are called, they simply respond, "Who?".

They wade through life's poor choices, No sense of direction.

They lie on the banks of devastation and regret,

no attempts at correction.

When taken by the hand, to lead the way, they refuse.

Independence runs deep in their blood.

The consequence of pitiful amuse.

Who are these misguided souls you ask?

Why they are your children, your grandchildren and many more to come.

The remnants of your disregarded past.
