Generations

We live in the TV Renaissance
And the time that music forgot
We're addicted to information
We're criticized a lot

We'll stay up all night in our bedrooms
We'll be staring at the sun
We long for our destinations
We're competing as we run

Our clothes are often vintage
Because those were better times
We're told that we are useless
We're told that we're unkind

But is this generation different
From the one our parents knew?
They say they grew up simpler
But their parents said that too

It's a never ending cycle
The population and their kids
We should never blame the younger crowd
For what the elders did

These pictures will become old photgraphs
And these books will be renamed
They will call our music "oldies"
And laugh at what we shamed

They'll smile at our clothing
And stomp on all our flaws
And we'll blame that generation
For what we probably caused
