Genesis
I drag my feet
Scarlet drops still dot my clothes
Dirt cakes my fingernails
Weariness paints my face
Tiredness projects from my eyes
Fatigue nearly overtakes me
My eyes wander over the mountains and valleys
Of buildings and streets
And they find solace in the view of the destination
The stained glass shines reddish orange sunlight
Onto the sidewalk and the heavy oak door beckons
I straggle through the doors and collapse into a pew
My mind somewhere far from where I am
Until I hear a soft yet strong voice flow into my ears
" Are you alright? You look tired?" He said taken aback
"I'm fine, just....fine" I say hesitantly
"You know I'm hear to listen if you need it." He offers
I chuckle " How much time do you have? "
"I have all the time you need."
I respond " Can you forgive sins? "
"No, but the Father can. " He told me
" Well Father forgive me for I have sinned and this is how my sins came to be..."
