Genocide

I'm sleeping,

91 days, I stay inside of a bathroom

full with others here woh are hiding.

Because the murders are out there

Out side, beating everyone

Killing everyone

Knocking down my families doors,

My friend's doors.

People who I called my family,

dead.

I can hear the babies crying,

the women crying,

the men, crying.

And so I stop breathing,

I start praying.

God, can this day get any better.

But then I hear a sound,

I can feel it too.

The beating of a Heart,

my heart. Meaning I still am living.

And then I wake up,

this was no dream.

because it's still in my head,

my heart

every beat,

the genocide I lived,

the Genocide I see.
