Gentle and Wild

Love is the way You should have left a long a time ago

but You are still here

I was afraid You wouldn't want me after you saw who I really was

but Your love drives out all my fear

You have seen the worst of me, You have seen me in my best

You know what lies in the attic of my mind, I don't have any secrets

I  have fallen so hard, I thought for sure You wouldn't catch me

I have run so far, I thought for sure You would never find me

But you do, after all these years You always do

Your love is both reckless and gentle, wild and still

You put it all on the line to have me, but let me chose my own will

I used to be insecure but You call me Brave now instead

All my life I've daydreamed of the romances I've read

Romeo and Juliette, Mr. Darcy  and Elizabeth Bennet

but it all happened so soft and slow, I didn't realize I was living in a sonnet

You make me a better person I just want to dance on top of the world

I want to repeat everything you say to me, every melody every word

No more shackles, no more chains,

No more torture, no more mind games

You promised You promised You promised

You and Your promise is all I need
