Genuine Delight

I was at the market place,

Selecting mangoes

It was then over the mobile,

I was dictated a list of things

My wife wanted me to purchase,

It was not a tall order.

And,

I heard a female voice,

Call me by my name,

I turned and saw her,

Waving her right hand,

Wearing a light blue dress

She struck a fine figure,

She was my old flame,

From my college days

Still fresh in my memory

I saw her walk towards me,

My both hands were full,

I could not hold her in my arms,

She sensed my plight,

She did not care

She hugged me tightly,

And I wished she would

Never move away.

I felt a genuine delight.
