George's Song

I don't remember all the things we've said

Or recall all of the places that we've been,

I just know the light.

You know, I wake up just to dream

About you and me, how

We love to hate and we live to die.

I've been a hero and I've been a coward

I've been all the words that you can think of.

I have been cruel and I have been kind

I've been all of the adjectives you can come up with.

I've been happy and I have been sad, and

You make me so goddamn mad,

But whenever I feel alone

I think of you and I'm home.

You melted my heart of ice

Balmed my burns from all the lies

Healed the wounds from all of my wars.

And I'm not really sure if you get it,

Call and I'll be there in a second,

Claim my heart 'cause it's yours.

Out of all the things I've done

Out of all the places we've gone

Out of all the things we've said

Out of all the people I've met

I realized the most important one

Is leaving me behind

I know it's not the time to change your mind.

So whenever you're feeling alone,

Just think of me and you'll be home.
