Get Up Now

Get up now,

you know it isn’t that time.

You may be aching and tired,

no longer at your prime.

You’ve gazed too much at the heavens,

and forgot how to walk on the ground.

Like a failure of launch,

chained to infinite setbacks.

Don’t succumb to the numbness,

Don’t stop your rage against the darkness.

You’re body may wish to die,

but your soul claws at the stars.

You know if you succumb to your wearing,

You’ll betray yourself and start tearing.

So get up now,

dust your soul off.
