Get out of my life

I’ve let you slide by, to uphold my pride,
But you’re back for attack, and I just can’t hold back.
I’ve lived by your rules, kept me chained to the wall,
I’ve played in your game- my distasteful downfall

A dark time were those years, of holding back tears,
Of taking your pain, that drove me insane.
I told you to leave, not just once but twice,
I assure you darling, I won’t ask you thrice.

You keep pressing your luck, always rolling the dice,
But what you don’t know baby- I don’t always play nice,
What you don’t know hunny- the pounce is my vice.
All that’s holding me back, are my morals sufficed.

Time after time, you keep saying you’re wrong,
But honestly, love, you’ve said that too long.
All you’ve been doing, is singing that song,
Our end it was fated- you’ve just kept it prolonged.

But this time it’s over, and over it’ll stay,
No more begging forgiveness, you will lose this day.
I’ve believed your lies, and I’ve taken you back,
Made a fool of myself- as you’ve slid through the cracks.

Back into my life- serenely naïve,
I only looked at the good, nothing else I’d believe.
But now we are done- all you do is deceive
Baby, don’t cry- you just don’t like to receive.

Now get out of my life, get out of my head-
Take your games to another man’s bed.
I’ll give you till three, enough has been said,
Just get out of my life- our love is now dead.
