Getting It Done

Everybody wants to succeed,

Nobody puts the work in,

Many don’t do their deed,

But all strive to win.

I’m not everyone else,

I do what I have to do,

I do it for myself,

If there’s a wall, I break through.

I always get my needed work done

No matter how long it takes.

Now it may not be fun

But I know the stakes.

Others do better, that’s okay

It never hinders my goals.

I keep working day to day

For my future as a whole.

I may get a C on a test

And others might have an A

But I don’t care about the rest

A C’s a C and that’s okay.

But there’s room for improvement

I always work to be greater.

But I haven’t realized that until recent

I now look at what happens later.

I keep my persistence

Its hard to stop me

I can’t resist

I work hard, you see.
