Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone

Ignorance smacks your face

Leaving bruises on already darkened skin

Darkened with the heat of oppression

That has burned your face for generations.

You see no one in this jungle

A place called education

Who knows your struggles, who have faced this heat

Before.

And yet, inch. By inch.

You climb

Rising above the leaves that have smacked your face

And take your rightful place in this Tree of Knowledge.
