The Ghost of You
Dear Best Friend,
The memory of you haunts me.
When I step into the darkness,
I see you. I hear you. I feel you.
But I know you are not there.
My imagination overwhelms me.
As I fall asleep I dream of you.
Tears drip from my eyes, as the memories blur in my head.
You live inside my dreams, as your way to say goodbye.
Your cold hand grazes my cheek as I peer up, I see your eyes twinkling down at me.
I smile at you as you whisper in my ear “you are not alone, I will always be here.”
Your fragile hand touches my heart as you turn into petals and float away.
