A Ghostless Haunting

There is a nagging feeling

somewhere within the back of my mind

a shadow... slowly creeping

but as I turn my head all i find

my feverish melecholy. Am i Blind?

Was it a product of my imagination? Or was something there? Some spark,

is this the beast bringing my perdition

or my fateless ambition, Heavens mark

am i the minow? or am i the shark?

Perhaps that in itself a false dychotemny

the shadows conceal a greater monster.

Even now, i hear an odd comradery.

It must be a mirror of sickness i conjur

I must find this ill pondered haunter

I find something in the mirror.

One of us will understand subjection

in his eyes i see a faint shimmer

He says, remember my eyes with a light inflection

Who is it but my own damned reflection
