Gift of a Friend

y guard was up, I was ready to fight, an impenatrable wall, u chose to break

I was prepared for the strike, the final kill, neither came, neither will.

Instead of pain, a strong embrace, there was warmth, instead of hate.

My confusion was great, and so u explained, to relax a bit, just play the game

Know myself, and friends will come close, but if I hide myself, and hang from ropes.

My heart is fresh, my eyes are new... I'll miss my friend, I already do.
