The Gift That Keeps on Giving

Life’s a gift that keeps on giving
 Consists of many galaxies
Rays of sun shine over waters
Give light to life forms in the sea

 A universe with endless talent
Taken for granted gray skies & rain
 An effortlessly flawless land
Hidden in the shadows of tragedy & pain

 Discouraged by the obstacles
 Effecting plans in place
 Humanity’s competition driven
To win a one sided race

We each carry so much heartache
For all of us, I pray
We leave misery in its company
To allow the better things their day

Learn to speak to those in passing
 Give thanks for each delay
Travel the world that’s been loaned to you
 And love on every stray

 Each breath’s an opportunity
 To thrive while we’re living
 Future generations wealth
Built on the gift that keeps on giving
