A Gift for Me

I look around me
I can’t help
but feel
so alone. So lost
so lonely.

That was,
until the light
touched my heart
left it in a way
it never was before.

My Lord
you gave me a gift
you gave me
my religion
my way of life.

I thought about
how different
my life would be
if I didn’t have
this light.

With this gift
I feel guided
even more so
than the North Star
guiding me at night.
