Gifts of Life
Life gave me donuts, but those donuts tasted like lemons.
Life gave me love, but that love was hurting my feelings.
Life let me live, but I couldn’t live without penicillin.
Life gave me power, but that power was doing way to much killing.
I was taught how to dig and was expected to fly.
I was chosen to lead without any clear reason why.
They said I’ll do great and simply walked away.
But when someone like me messes up, I’m the talk of the town for the entire day.
Costs, expectations, misdirection, and futile futility are the reason why I exist.
I was one of the ones they thought would become a tech genius or math analyst.
People tell me of different areas of work as if it would meet my interests.
All while I’m telling them exactly what I want, they still overlook me like I overlook pinterest.
I ask God “Whats happening? Is this a test?”
All he says is “Its okay my son, I’ll handle the rest.”
With my patience high and death stalking me as if I were a celebrity,
The only choice I have is to keep going and deal with reality.
Growing up I learned that money is a crucial tool, time is running fast,
And that there are consequences for our actions.
I’ve gained a insight of the way our country is split up into different factions.
There is no end to the violence on the streets,
yet there are those who still fight it on their own two feet.
Life gave us challenges, and those challenges keep us alive.
Life gave us heroes, to inspire us to stand up for what is right and to survive.
Life gave us lessons, so that we could use them to grow and thrive.
Life gave us the internet, so that we can speed up our success and also go live.
Life gave me a purpose, so that if I quit, I would fail those who are counting on me.
Life gave a future, that shines so bright that it is almost impossible not to see.
Life gave me an audience, so that I can show everyone that life is meant for all of us to be free.
Life told me to grow up, because soon I will become the person I was meant to be.
