A Gilded Staircase

Misconception of rooms, assumptions- appear desolate, yet full of mystery. Seen through eyes, perception or deception. Lustrous dreams, dreary reality, hidden. A gilded staircase. Brimming with hope, glimmer of despair. Gilded staircase, foundation made, hope on the side- A Cellar Door.

Back when i lived in a house we used to have a cellar and it always scared me but i was always curious what was down there. endless possibility but frightening mystery as well. your piece embodies that very well in my opinion. what inspired you to write this?
